Diana and Dan chose to see each other before the ceremony and did most of their photos at that time. This allowed them to join their guests and enjoy most of the entire cocktail hour.

The Quaker Wedding Ceremony took place in the round with just the couple in the center of the circle. Guests were encouraged to participate in the ceremony in between moments of silence and the bride and groom recited beautiful vows and promises to each other.

Part of the Quaker Ceremony includes the Ring Warming. The wedding rings are passed around to all the guests allowing them to hold "warm" the rings in turn. At this time they can pass a silent good wish or blessing onto the couple through their rings.

The wedding favors were hand painted note cards by local artist Mary Louise Pollock. Each set contained 4 cards which depicted different locations the couple had visited together.

The cake by Cakes by Nomeda was another personalized element of the wedding. Each tier depicted an important moment in the couples lives together, starting with when they met in college and ending with their new home in D.C.
