NY Yankee Themed Wedding!

Submitted by: Tara Hutchison (bride)
Wedding date: 8/4/07
Wedding location: Long Island, NY

We arrived to our cocktail hour by boat as our guests looked on. It was an unforgettable moment! Soon after, we entered our reception with our bridal party to the voice of legendary Yankees Public Address Announcer, Bob Sheppard!

Our wedding colors were navy and white- the colors of the NY Yankees, the team that brought us together. Bridal party wore Bill Levkoff gowns in Navy with Ivory sash. Flower girl's dress by Jordan Sweet Beginnings- ivory dress with navy sash.

Our tables were named and numbered after Yankee players, inspired by the retired number plaques in Monument Park. Each had its own personal anecdote relating to the player and the bride and groom. Please forgive the orientation of this pic- I have no idea why it posted that way. Flowers by Burton provided the centerpieces. Table number design by Shannon Fritz (my sister).

Placecards were inspired by our season tickets. Designed by my sister Shannon Fritz. In lieu of ribbon wands or bubbles, we made navy and white pennants for guests to wave at us as we exited the church!

Favors were beer mugs screen printed with our monogram, and filled with peanuts and cracker jack. They were a huge hit! Mugs were purchased from the Dollar Tree- no joke! Screen printed by Chromatic Graphics.

Tara, I know that I am probably grasping at straws here, but is there any way you can tell me how you got the info on Bob Sheppard? I would absolutely love to have the "voice of God" announce my wife and I at out wedding. I have been searching the net, but I cant find any contact info. This would mean the world to me. Thank you. By the way, your wedding looks perfect!!!

That was an AMAZING idea - and very original. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, may I also ask if your sister would consider emailing a template, or acting as a consultant for a party we are planning in the near future - particularly for the table card design?!?! Thanks (mrdrsput@yahoo.com)

I love the table place cards. You mentioned that your sister made them. Would she be willing to email us the template she used or how can I contact her about designing similar cards for my wedding? Thanks, Courtney.

Tara- Where did you find the table place cards? My fiance is a die hard Yankee fan, and I want to make this day about him too.

Deanna, I just sent Mr. Sheppard a letter c/o Yankee Stadium asking him if he would be willing to do it (a prior internet search gave me the idea). I left my phone number and his son got back to me. Good luck! Thanks everyone for your sweet comments! :)

Hi I absolutely love your whole baseball theme idea. I was wondering how did you get the voice of legendary Yankees Public Address Announcer, Bob Sheppard to record your entrance of your bridal party and yourselves for the first time. I think this was a great idea and my fiance would love it, if I was able to surprise him with it. How did you contact him to do it and how much was it?? Thank You Dee Staten Island NY

"Handsome" - you mean knock down gorgeous don't you!!! But I'm prejudice - I'm your mother-in-law. And Shannon, your designs added so much class to a beautiful wedding and a beautiful bride and groom. Not to mention you and Laura Lynn adding to the beautiful wedding party, along with my 4 grandchildren and sons-in-law.
