Wedding date: 07/03/2008
Wedding location: Europe
Our wedding took place in County Mayo, Ireland- where Shane grew up. It was great to have all of his family there and the setting was absolutely perfect. My family all flew over for the event (luckily my family is very small compared to his!) Even my 85 yr old grandmother made the trip! The celebrations lasted an entire week.
It wouldn't be a wedding without a champagne toast.... and popping a bottle overhead of course! This was a great idea the photographer had we're so glad we did it. The picture came out great.

A great natural moment coming up the aisle as husband a wife. We were chatting and laughing as we walked up the aisle and the photographer captured the moment perfectly.

Right after the Rite of Marraige was complete, we heard some of our family members rustling around behind us. We turned around to find Shane's little nephew (who was one of our page boys) was sitting on the edge of his seat giving us a big "thumbs up". It was so adorable and he was thrilled we turned around and gave him a big thumbs up in return!

We had such a fantastic spot to take the bridal party photos at on the Abbey grounds. The area here used to be the cloisters. There are old stone ruins all over and guests enjoyed seeing a piece of history walking around and checking out headstones and homes built right into the hills 800+ years ago.
Here the boys check out the girls while the girls check out the jewelry!
Bridal gown by Allure and Bridesmaids dresses by Belsoie (Jasmine Bridal). I told my sister I was going to steal her bridesmaid dress back after the wedding because I loved it so much.

This Abbey dates back to 1200AD. Among other people to get married here was James Bond himself (well- one reincarnation of him anyway)- Pierce Brosnan.
I love the "first kiss" photo because it captures all of our friends and family in it as well. The second photo was taken while we were trying to wait out the only bit of rain we got all day, and I think it provides a great contrast to the hustle and bustle that preceeded it.

that's our church, reception site and cake. Everything was so beautiful. We wouldn't change a single thing about the day.
The cake was brought up from Galway and was two layers of Carrot Cake and one of Chocolate. There are delecate rhinestones scattered all over the cake and in between each layer and on top are fresh ivory roses. The table was arranged with the bridesmaids bouquets all around the cake which was a great way to put them on display and keep them from getting lost while everyone was having the meal.
The flowers were a combination of ivory roses, hydrangea, and freesia (which meant they not only looked gorgeous, they also smelled fantastic!)
