As their relationship grew, Emeli and Matthew decided to buy a house together and relocate to Las Vegas. A week after Emeli moved into their new house, Matthew took her out for a romantic night on the town to celebrate this big milestone. When they returned home, Emeli was surprised to find their home filled with flowers; Matthew then asked her to be his wife, and they celebrated with champagne. They immediately began planning a country club wedding on the Las Vegas Strip.

Emeli got ready at the Four Seasons Hotel. The ceremony and reception were at Cili in Bali Hai Golf Club.
