Shortly after midnight on January 1st, 2008 at church in front of hundreds, the benediction was about to occur. However, Ericah's father (also the pastor) asks the church to stay for a few more minutes b/c of an important annoucement he needed to make. As Ericah's grabbing her things anxious to leave, a voice comes over the speakers. It's Dionte! Dionte was at a Chrysler conference in Chicago. He must have called in or recorded this message for her since he couldn't be there with her. Then he asks, "Ericah, can you hear me?" Puzzled she's still looking around, as Dionte instructs her "Can you stand? Go stand next to your father." At this moment, she leans her head on her father's shoulder as Dionte begins to say how he feels about her, how he wished he could've been there with her and how he'd planned on starting the new year WITH her. Then Dionte instructs someone to bring out the roses. Out of the two back doors of the church, Ericah's good friends (Shaunta & Melissa) all the way from MSU walk out with 3 roses of red, yellow & white. She freaks out of sheer delight & surprise to see them. Here's what happened from that moment on...
